Working With Me

Initial Intake Appointment

During our initial intake appointment together I will gather a general history of your life, relationships, inner experiences, symptoms, etc. which will help to inform our work together moving forward. This is a chance for me to get to know you as a whole, individual person and further explore how I can support you on your healing journey.

Individual Therapy

After we complete the initial intake appointment we can begin meeting for individual therapy. Here we will begin the work that it takes to transform your inner and outer worlds, explore how you relate to yourself and others, and ultimately create a space for you to safely receive support for your individual emotions and experiences.

My Approach

What if I told you that the weight of the world wasn’t yours to carry? What if I told you that there was a different way to move through life - one that doesn't require you to brave it all on your own? Therapy is a space in which many of us can finally feel this to be true, where we can learn to receive and accept unconditional understanding and support for the very first time.

As a therapist, I utilize a trauma-responsive, humanistic approach to support you in exploring your unique needs, desires, and potential for growth as an individual. Utilizing concepts from attachment theory, I view the client-therapist relationship as an essential part of the therapeutic process. My hope for our time together is to provide you with a safe and supportive space to explore your individual emotions and experiences without fear of judgement or rejection. This can be especially important for those of us who did not experience safety or attunement in our primary attachment relationships - whether that be due to growing up with unavailable or abusive caregivers, being expected to take on an adult role from an early age, etc. Therapy can be a space in which you can rebuild relationship safety, experience connectedness, and finally prioritize attending to your own needs.

Utilizing a psychodynamic approach, I can assist you in exploring the way in which past experiences continue to influence the way you relate to others, the world, and to yourself in the present-day. When we have needs, desires, conflicts, etc. that go unresolved and unmet, especially from early childhood, we may continue to act unconsciously in ways that we don’t quite understand. You may find that this manifests through difficulty showing up and relating to others, or engaging in frustrating or unhealthy relational dynamics. You may even find that it’s impeding on your ability to live the life you truly want and deserve. When we don’t yet fully understand how our past experiences continue to influence us, our life and relationships may feel out of control. Together we can transform the life you live from the inside out.
